An Algorithm for Probabilistic Planning
نویسندگان
چکیده
We de ne the probabilistic planning problem in terms of a probability distribution over initial world states, a boolean combination of propositions representing the goal, a probability threshold, and actions whose e ects depend on the execution-time state of the world and on random chance. Adopting a probabilistic model complicates the de nition of plan success: instead of demanding a plan that provably achieves the goal, we seek plans whose probability of success exceeds the threshold. In this paper, we present buridan, an implemented least-commitment planner that solves problems of this form. We prove that the algorithm is both sound and complete. We then explore buridan's e ciency by contrasting four algorithms for plan evaluation, using a combination of analytic methods and empirical experiments. We also describe the interplay between generating plans and evaluating them, and discuss the role of search control in probabilistic planning. Probabilistic Integrated Planning of Primary and Secondary Distribution Networks based on a Hybrid Heuristic and GA Approach
The integrated planning of distribution system reveals a complex and non-linear problem being integrated with integer and discontinues variables. Due to these technical and modeling complexities, many researchers tend to optimize the primary and secondary distribution networks individually which depreciates the accuracy of the results. Accordingly, the integrated planning of these networks is p...
متن کاملProbabilistic Power Distribution Planning Using Multi-Objective Harmony Search Algorithm
In this paper, power distribution planning (PDP) considering distributed generators (DGs) is investigated as a dynamic multi-objective optimization problem. Moreover, Monte Carlo simulation (MCS) is applied to handle the uncertainty in electricity price and load demand. In the proposed model, investment and operation costs, losses and purchased power from the main grid are incorporated in the f...
متن کاملA New Multi-objective Model for Multi-mode Project Planning with Risk
The purpose of this problem is to choose a set of project activities for crashing, in a way that the expected project time, cost and risk are minimized and the expected quality is maximized. In this problem, each project activity can be performed with a specific executive mode. Each executive mode is characterized with four measures, namely the expected time, cost, quality and risk. In this pap...
متن کاملA Probabilistic Approach to Transmission Expansion Planning in Deregulated Power Systems under Uncertainties
Restructuring of power system has faced this industry with numerous uncertainties. As a result, transmission expansion planning (TEP) like many other problems has become a very challenging problem in such systems. Due to these changes, various approaches have been proposed for TEP in the new environment. In this paper a new algorithm for TEP is presented. The method is based on probabilisti...

An integrated model considers all parameters and elements of different deficiencies in one problem. This paper presents a new integrated model of a supply chain that simultaneously considers facility location, vehicle routing and inventory control problems as well as their interactions in one problem, called location-routing-inventory (LRI) problem. This model also considers stochastic demands ...
